What is “Strategic Ferocity?”
What an odd name for a business…
In one of my early roles, I had a 1:1 performance review with my manager. It was going well, we reviewed the business performance and my achievements, while looking to set goals for the next year. I really enjoyed working for this leader, he was an integral part of my work without being a micro-manager and perfectly balanced encouragement with expectations. In this meeting, he told me that I am “Strategically Ferocious.” To this day, I consider it one of the best compliments I have ever received.
Strategy: The plotting of the right course of action. This is where you evaluate goals, options, and activities. When done right, strategy looks holistically at a wide range of factors, selects an appropriate goal and then plans the work to achieve it. Don’t be fooled… goals and strategy are not the same thing.
Ferocity: The intensity with which you attack the work in front of you. More than execution, this pushes the envelope to accelerate timelines and achieve stretch goals.
Often, strategy is lost in the execution. What is necessary skill is a clear strategy ferocious execution.
In the realm of marketing, strategy stands as the cornerstone, outlining the precise course of action to navigate the market landscape effectively. It involves meticulous planning, analyzing data, and making informed decisions to achieve marketing goals. It's the strategic blueprint that guides every step a business takes to reach its target audience and maximize its impact.
Yet, strategy alone isn't enough. The real magic happens when strategy is paired with ferocity—the unwavering energy, determination, and passion with which one executes that strategy. Ferocity is what propels the well-thought-out plans into action, pushing through challenges and setbacks with relentless drive and enthusiasm.
So thats why I set out to do… Apply my understanding of how to get the basics of marketing right (setting a strategy) and then executing with a tenacity that enables success.
I named the company Strategic Ferocity in homage to one of my favorite bosses and as a daily reminder of the value I want to bring my clients each and every day.
